Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Bookends uses cookies and similar technologies on the website. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy (/privacy).
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They can be first-party (set by Bookends) or third-party (set by another domain). Similar technologies include local storage used for related session needs.
2. Cookies we use
The table below lists cookies currently in product use. Each row shows purpose, provider, duration, and whether the cookie is technical or requires consent. We do use cookies for authentication and language preference; we do not claim that Bookends uses no cookies.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Classification |
|---|---|---|---|---|
bookends_auth_token | Bookends | Stores the signed authentication JWT so you stay signed in across visits. | 30 days (maxAge) | Technical |
bookends_auth_user | Bookends | Caches a minimal auth user payload for SSR and client hydration. | 30 days (maxAge) | Technical |
bookends_auth_expires | Bookends | Records when the auth token expires so the client can refresh or sign out. | 30 days (maxAge) | Technical |
i18n_redirected | Bookends / @nuxtjs/i18n | Persists the selected UI language (English or Italian) across visits. | Per @nuxtjs/i18n module defaults | Technical |
.Bookends.ExternalAuth | Bookends | Short-lived correlation cookie used only during the Google sign-in handshake, to link the redirect back to your browser session. | 10 minutes (temporary — only set during Google sign-in) | Technical |
3. Managing preferences
Today, the cookies listed are classified as technical and are needed for signed-in sessions and remembering your language. Preference controls for optional cookies will be introduced when optional (non-essential) cookies are added to the product. Until then, there is no separate consent banner for optional trackers.
4. Browser controls
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. If you block technical cookies required for authentication, parts of Bookends (including signing in) may not work correctly.
5. Changes
When we add, remove, or reclassify cookies, we update the inventory source and the version / last-updated indicators on this page.
